The protection of your personal data is of paramount importance. Personal data is information about personal or factual circumstances regarding an identified or identifiable natural person. Who is the controller of the data processing?

The controller within the meaning under article 4 number 7 of the GDPR is the person who, alone or in cooperation with others, makes the respective decisions on the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

What kind of data shall be subject to our processing? And for what purposes do we do it?

We maintain an online presence within social networks and process user data in this context in order to communicate with the users active there or to offer information about us.

The following types of data may be subject to processing:

  • Inventory data (e.g. names, addresses),
  • Contact data (e.g. e-mail address, phone numbers),
  • Content data (e.g. entries in online forms, text entries, photographs, videos),
  • Usage data (e.g. visited websites, interest in content, access times),
  • Meta data/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses).

Generally speaking, the processing takes place for the purposes listed here in the following:

  • Contact requests and communication,
  • Feedback (e.g. collection of feedback through the online form),
  • Marketing.

In this context, we would like to point out that this might lead to user data being processed outside the territory of the European Union, which may pose risks for users because, to mention an example, this might hinder the enforcement of users' rights.

User data are also generally processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, user profiles can be created based on user behaviour and the user interests taken therefrom. The usage profiles can in turn be used, for example, to display advertisements which presumably correspond to the interests of the users both within and outside of the platforms. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on the user's computer, in which the user's usage behaviour and interests are stored. Furthermore, data can also be stored in user profiles separate from the devices used by the users (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in).

 

On what legal basis does the said processing take place?

The processing of users' personal data is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests to effectively offer users information and communicate with users according to article 6 paragraph 1 letter f of the GDPR. If the users are asked by the respective providers of the platforms for consent to the above-mentioned data processing, the legal basis of the processing shall be the article 6 paragraph 1 letter a of the GDPR and the article 7 of the GDPR.

For a detailed description of the respective forms of processing and the options of objection (opt-out), we would like to make reference to the following section under the point "Where is the data processed?" where you can find linked data protection notices as well as information from the providers/operators of the respective networks.

We would like to point out that requests for information and the assertion of user rights are also directed most effectively to the providers/operators. Where is your data processed?

Together with Facebook Ireland Ltd., our company is jointly responsible for the collection (but not the further processing) of data of the visitors of our Facebook page (the so-called "fan page"). The said data includes information relating to the types of content users view or interact with or the actions taken by them (see “Things you and others do and provide” in the Facebook Data Policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy), as well as information about the devices used by users (e.g. IP addresses, operating system, browser type, language settings, cookie data; see “Device Information” in the Facebook Data Policy: https://www.facebook.com/policy). As explained in the Facebook data policy under the section "How do we use this information?", Facebook collects and uses information to provide analysis services, so-called "page insights", for website operators so that they can obtain information about how people interact with their pages and with the content associated with the said pages. We have entered into a special agreement with the company Facebook (see "Information on Page Insights", https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum), which in particular regulates which security measures Facebook must comply with and in which Facebook has agreed to comply with the rights of data subjects (i.e. users can, for example, send information or deletion requests directly to Facebook). However, the rights of users (in particular to information, deletion, objection and complaint at the competent supervisory authority) are not restricted by the agreements with Facebook. The rights granted to you as "data subjects"

You have the right to information about the personal data processed by us to your person (under article 15 of the GDPR).
